It was in the late ‘90s when maniacal fiddle-woman Bridget Regan collided with gravelly Fastway vocalist Dave King at L.A. Irish pub Molly Malone's. Something clicked and they decided to join forces as an Irish-American Irish/punk band. They proceeded to play the pub every Monday night; “we felt like we were flogging it to death, so we called the band Flogging Molly."
With a sound like The Dubliners and Stiff Little Fingers sitting down for a bowl of Lucky Charms soaked in Guinness with George Jones, Bridget gets to fiddlin’ hardcore on tracks like “Salty Dog” and “Seven Deadly Sins,” and more somber tracks like “Far Away Boys” or “Death Valley Queen.”
Flogging Molly have hit the road with the Warped Tour, Larry Kirwan's American FlÈadh Festival and are one of the biggest punk concert draws today, playing their hearts out to the Irish punk in us all. Bridget Regan loves every minute of it.
