BLAH Nothing gets Texan Billy F.'s barbecue hot like six strings, internal combustion and a bodacious babe on each arm. As a lad, Elvis Presley slammed into Billy's impressionable eyeballs and his mind was forever transmogrified by rock 'n' roll. After doing the psychedelic thing (and jamming with Jimi Hendrix in the process), Gibbons decided to form a more straight-ahead, boogie-licious band with bassist Dusty Hill and drummer Frank Beard, and from that union ZZ Top was born. Gibbons' amped up boogie guitar playing propelled the band to achieve a status virtually guaranteeing movie soundtrack royalties for centuries to come.
In 1983 ZZ Top combined roadhouse blues and electronica, resulting in their multi-platinum album Eliminator. A true guitar nut, Billy F. has a massive collection of vintage guitars. He's currently spanking the plank with Frank and Dusty on tour with The Stray Cats and Pretenders.
